Legal Aid for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is known as the bankruptcy to “wipe the slate clean.” Chapter 7 is available to those who qualify and who need a fresh start with little or no debt. The bankruptcy court appoints a trustee (an attorney) to oversee the debtor’s case.
Legal Aid for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy
Chapter 13 Bankruptcy is often referred to as the wage earner’s plan. Chapter 13 allows the debtor to keep all of his assets and spread the payments over a period of time. This law is to allow the debtor to make a fresh start, and not be punished for an inability to pay debts.
